What Does Real Council Experience Bring to the table?

With only one Councillor seeking re-election, Carling will soon welcome several new faces to the council chamber. This makes experienced leadership in the mayor’s chair especially important.
I bring four years of council experience, attended every meeting throughout my term, and service as Chairman of the Parry Sound Industrial Park Board. I understand how municipal government works, how decisions are made, and how council can turn community priorities into meaningful action.
The mayor’s role requires more than promises. It requires a practical understanding of the Municipal Act, council procedures, municipal finances, and the responsibilities that come with public service. My experience has also given me valuable insight into how Carling can improve communication, financial reporting, and its service delivery.
As mayor, I will help new Councillors understand their roles while encouraging them to bring their own experience, skills, and perspectives to the table. By working together, we can build an effective council focused on its collective responsibility to serve the people of Carling.
Experience matters. Leadership matters. Together, we can build a stronger future for Carling.
Building the future of Carling, together.
